What does one do when you lose your job?  In the midst of a lack of opportunity things are indeed serious and there is sometimes the need for improvisation.  A ball player meets opposition. Its a seasoned veteran.  One of those hardcore stone-walled defenders. Battle tested and seen it all. But there is something about youthful enthusiasm that will not be denied. There is something about the naivety gene that loves to express itself in the face of adversity as if it doesnt recognize danger at all.  This ability to come up with an improvised solution is often show cased by those who recognize fear to be a useless and emotion.  It could also be seen as a metaphor for the survival skills needed being that you are staring poverty in the face and knowing fully well (in some cases) what it is like to be on the wrong side of the tracks or an AT $ T phone bill.  Your eyes get sharper. There are some days I cant bare it. Most days I can.  Tonight however, im being kept up by the writer in me, You see, I let myself go once  and it took me 2 full  years  to recover .  Not so sure ive fully recovered if im honest but im getting back to myself but... ......im not sure if I want to. Have you ever prayed to the 8 pound, 6 ounce dont even know a word yet new born baby Jesus? And when/if you have to, do you picture baby Jesus in that smelly stable with horse dung and cow foot prints all over the place or is this imagination a more peaceful convocation of serenity with Jesus in his little manger and surrounded by the Gold given to him by wise men?  The baby Jesus didnt have a place to stay. When I was a young chappy, I used to stare at the stars. Seriously, I used to look up so much that even till this day people around me look up to figure out what im looking at. The truth is, right before my grand-father died. He used to look down all the time. He was sick to his bones..literally. And none of use knew what to do to fix him. He had something...that made him look....defeated. So he would always look down. I knew the picture didnt look right..so I told him. "Grandpa, look up" He'd look at me and gently grimace.
